The 12th Annual Buddy Walk will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at ASPIRO at our 1660 Stiles Road location. This event is a great Down syndrome awareness event, as well as a great family event. Registration is at 9:00 am with the walks beginning at 10:00 am

Apparently I misspoke, we were asked to participate and as a matter of fact we supplied those yellow tootsie roll aprons; I think the problem was we didn’t get notified soon enough to adequately get the word out – I do agree with John, we as Knights should be out in front of these type of functions, not just in front, but visible – i.e. wear something that identifies you has a Knight!
One of our Brother Knights participated in this event today – here are his comments:
“Brother Knights: I participated in the “Buddy Walk” this morning. There was a good turnout overall (about 300+) however the K of C, who was the major sponsor, was sparse. I counted only 5 members including the state secretary. This walk will be an annual event. The Knights have for the past 25+ years been strong supporters of the MR fund through our “tootsie roll drive”. Let’s try a little harder next year… this is a good public exposure for the Knights”
I agree; however I don’t think our council was asked to attend or participate.
